In 1973 Mr. Gipson founded The Gipson Company and ventured into the booming real estate market in Atlanta. For the first twelve years of his fifty years in real estate he was a partner with Hal W. Lamb (United Corners) in numerous real estate developments. He was involved in the acquisition, development, leasing, management, and sale of over ten million square feet of retail properties primarily in the Southeastern United States.
Property types have ranged from neighborhood centers, community centers, freestanding credit build-to-suit centers, to power centers. Starting in 2012 The Gipson Company moved into the development of Medical Office Buildings.
Some of the more recent developments have been along Peachtree Road between Brookhaven and Buckhead and most recently the mixed use redevelopment of the old GM plant property in Doraville, Georgia.
